Shopping swap

When we go shopping we usually aren't aware of the things around us that do contain plastic. Or we usually ignore them thinking that they wont have a major affect to the planet. Well this is wrong and in this page we will give you the best and most afordable alternatives for plastic.

Let's start of with the first item that you hold when you start shopping. A plastic bag of course. So harmless right? Wrong. did you know that 1 plastic bag can take more than 500 years to decompose? Yes, and I know its hard to believe. The worst part is that when they are thrown out not many do actually get recycled. Meaning that they end up in the soil and sea. When they reach the soil they release toxic chemicals that are very dangerous when eaten. Ocean animals sometimes confuse the bags as food which can lead them to eating it. Sea turtles are most affected by them since they confuse them to jelly fish which they do eat.

The best solution to this is fabric bags. Like tote bags for example. They are reusable and much more solid than normal plastic bags. They also only take 5+ months to decompose which is much much less than plastic bags.

Next. Lets talk about ziplock bags. They may be handy but they do not last long and are still as harmful to the environment.

So I would advise to finding a new alternative which is Silicon bags. They are made out of sand material and they last much much longer, they are easier to clean and reuse as well.

Now lets see what alley we are heading next... oh the vegetable alley! well well, what do we have here? vegetables and fruit wraped in plastic bags, foam nets, etc. We advise you to buy yourself a handy reusable mesh bag for vegetables and fruit. This is so much better than a normal thin plastic bag. Foam nets for example can suffocate an animal if it gets stuck around their throats. While mesh bags decopose so much faster making it easier for natural habitats.
